A 17lb, Then 18lb, Then another 18lb....Then a fantastic 28lb on two visits to Gailey in November.
Mr Arnold from Edgbaston Birmingham (Pictured right) has certainly hit the jackpot with his Pike fishing at Gailey, on two visits he landed and returned no less than 6 superb condition fish all caught on live trout, the best being the impressive pike on the top right.
So impressed with the fishing he immediately purchased a full season ticket .....watch this space to see what he lands next?
From October 1st to the end of February 2010 Gailey opens the gates to our Pike fishing friends.
All the money generated from Pike fishing tickets helps us to replace stocks lost to the predators.
Best Pike Nov 2009 - 28lb caught on Live trout.
Best Pike Aug 2009 - 26lb caught on the fly.
Day Tickets £10.00.
Season Tickets £150.00. (Fish any day - 7 days)
Boats available from £5.00 (Pre booking advised)
Live Trout Bait 60p Each.
PIKE FISHING RULES:
• Only live bait purchased from Gailey may be used (No live bait to be brought on to the water).
• No Fishing off the boat jettiy, in front of the lodge.
• Commercial dead bait may be used e.g. Sprats, mackerel etc.
• Only large barb-less lures may be used (minimum 8 inches)
• No Sail floats may be used.
• Barb-less hooks only.
• Anglers must have the correct un-hooking equipment.
• All trout must be returned to the water alive.
• Trout caught must be returned with care, damaged Trout to be purchased at £2.50 each
• Boat anglers have right of way approximately 35 yards from Banks.
• The management reserve the right to limit numbers as required.
