About Gailey Trout Fishery |

The 35 acre lake was originally built as a top up reservoir for the Staffordshire canal system, and opened as a trout fishery in the mid 1970s. Many of the team that run Gailey have fished the water as season ticket holders for 10, 20 and 30 years and are always available to offer help and advice about Gailey.
Peter Davies one of team said “running Gailey is a labour of love, every penny we take from ticket sales is invested in to the running and stocking the fishery, the more fishermen at Gailey, equals bigger stocks of fish and better facilities and better trout fishing for everyone”.

Gailey Trout Fishery, one of the oldest trout fisheries in the
Midlands, located just off the M6 and A5 near Cannock, Staffordshire and within
easy reach of Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Telford, Shrewsbury, Derby,
Shropshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Cheshire. Gailey is a 35
acre Reservoir with over a mile of superb bank fishing and is regularly stocked
with rainbow trout, brown trout, blue trout, tiger trout and even arctic char. A
range of day and season tickets are available including catch and release.
Pulling Boats or with electric motors are available to hire.
